LOCATION
Verdura Golf & Spa Resort is located in south-west Sicily, close to the village of Verdura, the fishing port of Sciacca and the town of Agrigento.
CONNECTIONS
Verdura is one hour’s drive from Palermo International airport. Palermo can be reached by plane from many European cities, and by plane or ferry from several Italian cities. There are car hire companies based at Palermo or the resort can arrange private car or bus transfers. Other airports include Trapani which is around a 45-minute drive away and Catania airport which is a three-hour drive from the resort. Verdura also has its own helicopter-landing facility.
SIZE
The resort occupies 230 hectares of valley which gently undulates down to the Mediterranean Sea, where there is 1.8km of private beach.
ACCOMMODATION
There are 203 rooms and suites, all with sea views and private terraces, spread across two types of building: Courtyard and Landscape. There are two large 170 sq m Ambassador Suites and one luxurious 175 sq m Presidential Suite including three private terraces with uninterrupted sea views, private swimming pool, extremely spacious bedroom with king-sized bed, seating area and walk-through wardrobe, separate living room with dining area, kitchenette, guest wc and private internal courtyard with seating.

The resort offers four restaurants, private in-room dining, five stylish bars for drinks and cocktails, a gelateria and extensive wine cellar including many Sicilian wines. Children’s meals can be pre-ordered to avoid waiting.

Buon Giorno
This casual restaurant serves an international buffet breakfast and Italian cuisine buffet lunch. In the evenings it is exclusively open for children, offering healthy and nutritionally balanced dishes specifically created for our young guests.

La Zagara
This sophisticated a la carte restaurant serves fine Mediterranean cuisine with strong Sicilian influences prepared with the freshest local ingredients.

Amare
This beach restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the sea and serves fresh and simple cuisine including salads, fish, barbeques and pizza.

Liolà
A typical Sicilian Trattoria with beautiful cliff top views of the sea, serving pasta, pizza, salads, fish and other local specialities.

WEATHER
Beach weather for most of the year. Short, mild winters, warm springs and autumns, hot summers. February is the coldest month, at an average of 13C. October-November and March-June temperatures range from 15C to 26C. Average temperature July-August 28C.

Verdura has been built with protection of the environment and sustainability strongly in mind. It incorporates:
- solar panels to power hot water and electricity
- low-energy lighting
- no cars
- planting and replanting programmes, to reintroduce citrus and olive trees that were taken down during the building phase, and to add palms and shrubs
- coastal protection system to guard against erosion
- measures to attract local wildlife
- special drainage system recycles water to reservoir which irrigates the golf courses
- food, waste, paper, glass, aluminium all recycled
