Learn to paint in watercolour
This inspiring class is led by a local contemporary artist. Before picking up a brush, a few guided pencil sketches will help you familiarise yourself with the techniques of perspective and composition. Next, choose your subject – perhaps a scenic landscape or detailed still life observation – and explore how to recreate it on the page. Your instructor will help you experiment with subtle tones and master a variety of strokes, before you take your masterpiece home as a bespoke souvenir.

The ancient art of fresco painting
Learn the centuries-old art of fresco painting, passed down through generations of artisans, in this two-hour experience for two. First, enjoy a journey into the history of frescoes and their significance during the Italian Renaissance. Next, your tutor will show you how to arrange your composition, apply plaster to wood and form a smooth surface suitable for painting. While the plaster is still wet, you’ll begin to apply colour to achieve different effects, and then finish the piece with wax. All materials and implements are provided, and you’re welcome to take your creation home.

A traditional masterclass: fresco and watercolour painting
Under the tutelage of a master artist, learn to paint in watercolour and create a fresco using traditional techniques. This experience begins with warm up sketching exercises before moving on to composing and painting a watercolour. Next, it’s time to develop your fresco, before applying and smoothing special plaster upon a wood surface. You’ll then paint your fresco directly upon the wet plaster, before finishing and sealing your piece with wax. Materials and implements are included; take home your creations as mementos.
