A Jungle Book Christmas
at Brown’s Hotel
Britain lays claim to some of the greatest writers in literary history, and it was at Brown’s Hotel that Rudyard Kipling penned parts of The Jungle Book, detailing the wild adventures of man-cub Mowgli. To honour the 125th anniversary of the enduring classic’s publication, Brown’s is festooned in exotic decorations, with an inspired programme of jungle-themed events taking place.
Upon arrival, little guests receive a fluffy monkey, Alby, and a dedicated storybook, while our signature Kipling Suite contains witty nods to the novel. Head down to The Donovan Bar to sip a Jungle Julep, featuring Monkey 47 gin, throughout December. Meanwhile, diners at Charlie’s are transported by its tropical atmosphere, with bespoke botanical wallpaper by Adam Ellis and dinner plates embossed with foliage. Settle back in The English Tea Room to admire a collection of incredible wildlife photographs by Rory Carnegie, in conjunction with the John Martin Gallery, from mid-November. For a full immersion in the exotic, unwind with a fragrant Cocoa-Nut Indulgence spa treatment at Brown’s Spa.
Guests can acquire a limited-edition The Jungle Book, available to purchase online or at Brown’s. Every edition of this collectors’ must-have comes complete with a letter by Kipling, written at the hotel.
The celebration continues into the festive season, when the interiors of Brown’s are transformed with playful decorations inspired by The Jungle Book, created in collaboration with Sir Paul Smith. Among these, tropical baubles, selected for Brown’s, adorn the Christmas tree. A limited-edition bauble created by Sir Paul Smith for Brown’s will be available to purchase in the lead up to Christmas.
