THE ROYAL ACADEMY - SUMMER EXHIBITION
DAVID HOCKNEY’S THE ARRIVAL OF SPRING, NORMANDY, 2020
There’s a lot to look forward to in the upcoming months at the Royal Academy of Arts, and one of the highlights will be seeing David Hockney’s joyous springtime works. The exhibition “The Arrival of Spring, Normandy, 2020” showcases pictures capturing the beauty of spring which Hockney created on his iPad in the midst of the pandemic. The RA has been filled with 116 works depicting spilling flower beds, trees, daffodils and a treehouse that will transport you to Hockney’s slice of Normandy paradise. Other exhibitions worth seeing include Tracy Emin/Edvard Munch: The Loneliness of the Soul and Michael Armitage: Paradise Edict.
BEHIND THE SEAMS - MEET LONDON’S TOP DESIGNERS
Mayfair is the perfect destination for a designer shopping spree and much-missed retail therapy. Brown’s concierge arranges behind-the-scenes private visits to the best boutiques, often taking you into rooms that are out of bounds to the general public, such as the Tiara Room at House of Garrard — the world’s longest-serving jeweller. Guests also get to meet key figures behind local shops such as British fashion designer Sir Paul Smith, who was made a Royal Designer for Industry in 1991.
