IMMERSE YOURSELF INTO ANCIENT ROME WITH A MULTISENSORY VISIT AT THE MUSEO DELL’ARA PACIS. “L’ARA COM’ERA” (THE ARA AS IT WAS) IS A MULTIMEDIA AND SYSTEMATIC REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT IN AUGMENTED REALITY OF THE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF ROME. USING SPECIAL AR VISORS (SAMSUNG GEAR VR) AND THE DEVICES' CAMERA INSERTED IN THEM, VIRTUAL ELEMENTS ARE COMBINED WITH REAL ELEMENTS, LEADING VISITORS ON AN IMMERSIVE VISIT OF THE ALTAR THAT WAS BUILT BY AUGUSTUS TO CELEBRATE THE PEACE HE IMPOSED ON ONE OF THE LARGEST EMPIRES EVER EXISTED.

From paintings and sketches to postcards and stage dresses, embark on a journey through Picasso’s “pastiche” period, where you are taken through 100 works of art – carefully selected by curator Olivier Berggruen with Anunciata von Liechtenstein – depicting his fluency of stile. The artworks include paintings on canvas, gouache and drawings, while on the second floor, Picasso’s unpublished documents – including postcards, letters, pictures and precious works on paper – are on display.

The Complesso del Vittoriano hosts an exhibition dedicated to Monet, the father of Impressionism, with around 60 works from the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris, including landscapes, portraits and his celebrated garden series of water lilies.

With 200 works on display, the exhibition tells and compares the production of the Master with some of the artists who have followed his footsteps, giving rise to new lines, shapes and colour balance within the classical strings of the nuke.
