The charm of classical music at Masseria Torre Maizza
Every summer, the small town of Martina Franca draws classical music fans from around the world, in occasion of the annual Festival della Valle d’Itria. Since its first edition in 1975, under the guidance of the Paolo Grassi Foundation, it has been renowned for its rich and varied musical programme.
In celebration of its unique collaboration with the Festival, Masseria Torre Maizza will host a special event on September 5th, 2020. The stars of the evening will be the students of the Accademia del Belcanto "Rodolfo Celletti", a high-level improvement course promoted and organized by the Fondazione Paolo Grassi.
From 17th century “recitar cantando” to the styles of the Puglia/Neapolitan School, from the coloratura technique to the art of variation in early 19th century Italian bel canto, the evening’s performances will showcase classical music across the centuries.
Furthermore, a delicious aperitivo at Bougainvillea bar will enhance the experience. Delicacies will include carrot and papaya tartare; Apulian gazpacho; a mix of mini panzerotti; ricotta, tomato and almonds; focaccia with stracciatella and bottarga; creamed cod; avocado, watermelon, hot pepper; salmon and pear tartare; anchovies marinated with citrus fruits and your drink of choice: choose between a spritz, sparkling wine, wine or a non-alcoholic cocktail. We look forward to welcoming you for an enchanting evening of mesmerising melodies and regional refreshments.
