Passing citrus farms, almond groves and vegetable gardens, you’ll uncover sea views on chalky trails that wind down to the coast.
We’ve designed a hiking route through our 230-hectare grounds that begins at Verdura’s reception. Follow the stone route markers on the ground, through the beach and up the hill. Pause to admire the breathtaking view, then meander across our vegetable garden, turn left
towards the Verdura River, walk down the wild coastline until you reach Amare Restaurant. The route takes 2 hours at a relaxed pace, less for seasoned runners and hikers.
Sailing out from Verdura private beach, discover the astounding natural beauty of the Sicilian coastline. Sail alongside the magnificently wild Torre Salsa Nature Reserve, towards the dazzling white cliffs of Scala dei Turchi on Verdura’s boat. Head west from Sciacca to admire the majestic Greek temple of Hera before heading up the coast to reach the incredible Aegadian Islands.
Embark on a memorable journey starting at Verdura Resort to weave through ancient olive groves, ford rivers, scale hills and traverse plateaus. Our expert guide will lead you on an adrenaline-fuelled adventure towards Poggio Diana Castle. This two hour experience is perfect for couples, families, or anyone who seeks the thrill of the wild and the surge of power.
Our special Mountain E-Bikes allow you to meander through Sicily’s hidden history, accompanied by our fitness instructors. Cycle through nature reserves and white cliffs on your way to the wild beach of Piana Grande. A highlight is the Heraclea Minoa archaeological site, rumoured to be the location of a wrestling match between local hero Eryx and Heracles himself. This 30km trail takes roughly 2h and 30 mins.
Learn how to work with corals from Sciacca under the guidance of an expert craftsman. Following an introduction of the coral and the coral reefs found in Sciacca, you will have the opportunity to work the raw coral which will take the shape you most desire. Finally, you will be taking home the jewel you have created and keep it forever.
Experience and explore the traditional techniques in ceramics, local artists are on hand to teach hand- building and decoration techniques. Try your hand at making beautiful and creative objects out of clay within their workshops at Verdura Resort.
Join us on a secret mission, as you search the resort high and low for Verdù, our mascot who has mysteriously disappeared. Can your little ones help us find him? All they need to do is work as a team and pass the five outdoor tests that’ll lead them from the Kid’s Club all the way to the beach. Here, they will be greeted with a special gift, as we hear that Verdù is known to surprise his friends.
Verdùland is a lively space dedicated to Babies and Kids, offering a 450m2 indoor room and two terraces with private pools. Cooking, science, arts & crafts, culture, an array of sports and much more are also offered and scheduled in a weekly programme. It’s overseen by our specialised team and Verdù the hedgehog mascot. A babysitting service is also available in room or at the kids club.
