Press Release

BROWN’S HOTEL TO PARTNER WITH GLOBE-TROTTER THIS CHRISTMAS

Brown’s Hotel is pleased to announce that legendary British luggage company, Globe-Trotter, will design the festive decorations for Brown’s Hotel this Christmas. Globe-Trotter suitcases are synonymous with the style and glamour of five star travel, and evoke a nostalgia akin to that felt by guests of Brown’s Hotel. Globe-Trotter will add touches of contemporary travel to the festive decorations, adorning the traditional Christmas Tree with bespoke miniature suitcases.

Brown’s is proud to be collaborating with such an iconic British brand, particularly following the recent opening of the Globe-Trotter flagship store, next door to Brown’s Hotel, on Albemarle Street. “When it is time to set down my suitcase after a long journey, I cannot think of a better home away from home than Brown’s, so to be invited to work with the team for Christmas was an invitation I just had to accept. Globe-Trotter luggage protects and cares for your belongings, and Brown's does the same for it’s guests. For more than 100 years we have shared rooms together. As old friends it is time to share a Christmas.” said Jeff Vaughan, Chairman of Globe-Trotter

Guests wanting to return home emanating the Globe-Trotter lifestyle, should take advantage of The Brown’s Bespoke Traveller Package that includes a night in a suite at Brown’s, a bottle of Ruinart Champagne on arrival and a bespoke 21 inch Globe-Trotter suitcase. Guests will be contacted three weeks in advance of their stay in order to style their own Globe-Trotter suitcase, choosing preferred colours for the outside of the suitcase, the lining, the clasps and personalised monogramming. The enviable bespoke Globe-Trotter suitcase will be in the suite on arrival waiting for its new owner. The Brown’s Bespoke Traveller Package: from £2000 inc VAT per suite per night. Available 15th December 2014 – 5th January 2015 Brown’s Hotel will be welcoming guests for Festive Afternoon Tea in the English Tea Room, seasonal cocktails in The Donovan Bar and Christmas menus in HIX Mayfair over the festive season.

Notes to Editors

Globe-Trotter
Globe-Trotter was founded by David Nelken in Saxony, Germany, in 1897. The company relocated to England in 1932, where it has remained ever since. Every Globe-Trotter suitcase is handmade from start to finish on original Victorian machinery at the Globe-Trotter factory in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire. Globe- Trotter cases are made from a unique material called Vulcanised Fibreboard, which is 14 layers of specially bonded paper, coloured to specification. This material was invented by Englishman Thomas Taylor in 1859. The corners, handles and straps are crafted from the finest leather. Globe-Trotter luggage has been used by an enviable client list over the past 117 years, including HM Queen Elizabeth II, Sir Edmund Hillary, Captain Robert Falcon Scott, Kate Moss, Daniel Craig and Dita Von Teese. In 2013 Globe-Trotter historically launched two leather collections, handmade at the Globe-Trotter factory in Hoddesdon, called Jet and Propellor. In May 2014 Globe-Trotter opened a new London flagship at 35 Albemarle Street, Mayfair. The new store is six times the sizes of the previous Burlington Arcade store, and is split over two levels. Suitcases and leather goods are sold on the ground floor, with a by appointment only bespoke lounge on the first floor, which also houses a company archive.
