DESIGN HOTEL AMIGO
Hotel Amigo’s 173 rooms and 19 suites have been completely redesigned by Olga Polizzi, Rocco Forte Hotels’ Director of Design, in a contemporary style while retaining the warm and timeless atmosphere of the hotel.
The elegant new rooms at the Hotel Amigo are an invitation to travel and escape, with a bright, cheerful feeling and warm colour plates. The same reflection of Belgian culture exists in a new and improved way, including fresh carpeting, colourful accents, along with Rene Magritte and Marcel Broodthaers art. The bedrooms have a view of the cobbled streets of Brussels, courtyard or stunning views of the City Town Hall of Brussels, UNESCO’s World Heritage.
The new complimenting furniture, and light carpet give the rooms and suites unparalleled comfort. The bathrooms are also fully restored. They contain mosaic details in red or green to match their marble vanity tops, and figures of Hergé’s characters Tintin, Snowy the dog and Captain Haddock enliven the walls.
Flemish wall tapestries from the 18th century and the authentic paving stones originally used in the hotel’s surrounding adorn the lobby.
“Design is integral to our hotels. Good hotel design should be comfortable, practical and memorable, to create an experience that is intriguing and a little unusual. Each of our hotels has its own identity; I always start with the location and the style of the building for inspiration. High quality craftsmanship is essential, as are the local artists and builders who share our passion for attention to the details that really matter. I hope our guests will enjoy every moment of their stay at Rocco Forte Hotels.”
