HOTEL AMIGO INTRODUCES THE “BRUXELLES ET MOI” EXPERIENCE CURATED BY THE FORTE FAMILY
Whether it’s exploring the hidden gems of the city or wandering around the famous spots, Hotel Amigo, the Rocco Forte Hotel in Brussels, is the perfect starting point from which to experience the vibrant city. From fashion experiences to gentlemen’s grooming, Hotel Amigo offers unique city experiences handpicked by the Forte Family, founders of Rocco Forte Hotels.
The Forte family have gathered their prestigious friends in Brussels from the design, fashion and art worlds to create bespoke experiences for guests of Hotel Amigo so they can experience the city like a local. Guests can book the “Bruxelles et Moi” experience with two nights’ accommodation at Hotel Amigo and one of the special local experiences curated by the family.
The Forte family experiences
Chocolate lovers will be delighted to experience a special workshop inside the traditional Laurent Gerbaud’s Atelier, just a few steps from Hotel Amigo. Inspired by his travels to the Far East, famous Belgian Maître chocolatier Laurent Gerbaud blends chocolate, fruit and spices to create chocolates that are unique and exquisite in flavour. Guests will learn how to create their own chocolate with guidance from the master chocolatier.
Fashionistas may prefer to meet Christina Zeller, the Artistic Director of Delvaux. This iconic Belgian leather brand may open the doors of its atelier – usually closed to the public - to the Hotel Amigo guests who wish to discover the history and craft of the oldest leather brand in the world. Christina says, “Like Rocco Forte Hotels, we have a sense of true luxury, elegance, timeless heritage and a witty spirit”.
Guests can also enjoy a private appointment with Brussels’ favourite milliner, Elvis Pompilio. When meeting Mr Pompilio in his quirky atelier, Irene Forte, Sir Rocco’s daughter and Group Project Director for the group, said, “Elvis’s hats are original, quirky and fun, there is certainly something for everyone”. The experience includes a private visit of his atelier with a consulting session to suggest the best hat for a specific occasion.
Guests can also experience Sir Rocco Forte’s favourite tailor, Pierre Degand at Maison Degand, the symbol of refinement and elegance for gentlemen on the prestigious Avenue Louise. They will learn the art of shining shoes properly and how to tie the perfect knot or bow tie. Upon request, guests could also benefit from Pierre Degand’s expertise and have a tailor made bespoke suit made for them during their visit.
Following Mrs Polizzi’s advice, guests may also visit antique and art dealer Michel Lambrecht, in his hidden shop in “Le Sablon” area just a short walk from Hotel Amigo, within the Brussels’ antiques district, and benefit from his expertise in eclectic lighting and furniture. As Mrs Polizzi said, “Brussels is a very good hunting ground for antiques. La Sablon area is particularly interesting, as it’s packed with antique shops. My favourite is Michel Lambrecht.”
Whatever the guests’ interest may be, Hotel Amigo will find a tailor-made experience to get the most out of their stay in Brussels with the “Bruxelles et moi Experience”.
From €384 per nightfor a minimum two nights stay in a Classic Room, service and VAT included (City tax excluded). The package includes breakfast and the experience for two people.
