THE NEW LOOK OF HOTEL DE RUSSIE, A ROMAN PARADISE WITH A CONTEMPORARY TOUCH
Rome, May 2017 – Hotel de Russie, a Rocco Forte Hotel in Rome, is delighted to announce the completion of significant renovations throughout the hotel.
The project, led by Olga Polizzi, Deputy Chairman and Director of Design of Rocco Forte Hotels, combines contemporary design with traditional tones creating a new living experience for our guests, enhanced by the latest technology. From the private apartment concepts of the Popolo and Picasso suites, to a distinctive style that combines luxury and comfort through detail and elegant furnishings, with the refurbishment of the all of the rooms Hotel de Russie has further enriched its look and feel to welcome guests in an unparalleled way.
A palette of blues, greys and purples compliments bright oranges and greens bringing a sense of vibrancy and Roman flair to the rooms. Wallpaper has been used in some of the rooms and suites, adding a new and distinctive decorative element with Fornasetti motifs and sylvan grey designs by Lewis & Wood. Each room is decorated with a mix of modern pieces and more traditional elements inspired by Roman history, punctuated with vibrant cushions made from Zimmer + Rohde fabrics. The contemporary feel of the rooms is complemented by luxurious and timeless furniture, such as tables from Porta Romana and chairs by Potacco; custom made elegant TV cabinets by Porada and handcrafted plaid by San Patrignano. All of the rooms are also equipped with new smart TVs.
Commenting on the refurbishment of Hotel de Russie, Olga Polizzi says; “Hotel de Russie is, in my mind, still the most beautiful hotel in Rome. Nowhere has a garden quite like ours - a complete oasis in the busy city where you can sit and relax with a glass of wine or a cocktail. All of the rooms have been renovated and refreshed. We have added new, vibrant colours - papal oranges and purples - and a bit of excitement and fun, with new cushions and details throughout, using sylvan wallpapers in some of the rooms and Fornasetti wallpaper in others. We hope guests will feel a true sense of Rome when staying at Hotel de Russie, as it retains the much loved elegant, classical contemporary style in keeping with the original design.”
After the successful refurbishment of the Popolo and Picasso suites, Olga Polizzi is currently working on the renovation of the Nijinsky Suite, Hotel de Russie’s presidential suite, to ensure the impressive residence offers guests the most luxurious stay in Rome.
