HOTEL SAVOY UNVEILS THE ELEGANT REPUBBLICA SUITE, THE GRAND COMFORT PRESIDENTIAL SUITE
Florence, July 2014 – Hotel Savoy, a Rocco Forte Hotel in Florence, is delighted to announce the completion of the newly renovated Repubblica Suite. From an intimate perfectly formed suite, the original Repubblica Suite has been transformed into a true Presidential Suite of ‘grand comfort’, while maintaining the stylish charm and traditional elegance of the Hotel Savoy. This sophisticated space, designed with the Rocco Forte flair and attention to detail, combines contemporary and traditional influences, and is ideal for discerning travellers looking for an unforgettable stay. The two-bedroom Suite is located on the second floor - historically known as the “Piano Nobile” (Nobile floor) owing to the prestigious visitors - with beautiful proportions, including high ceilings and full height balcony doors. With spectacular views from any of the four balconies over the square and Column of Abundance which marks the exact centre of the town, the Repubblica Suite offers guests a 110 square metres of comfort. Featuring an inviting sitting room, a stylish master-bedroom with walk-in wardrobe and lavish Carrara marble bathroom, and an elegant guests bedroom and white marble bathroom. The suite is cosy, inviting and perfect for entertaining and accommodating families. Mrs Olga Polizzi, Director of Design, Rocco Forte Hotels comments “Hotel Savoy’s presidential suite is a very attractive suite in a stunning position, overlooking the Piazza della Repubblica. Comfortable and warm, light and airy, it embodies the spirit of Florence”.
Guests enter the elegant Olga Polizzi designed suite, through double doors into the warm main salon with joyful yellow tones, and accents of blue and red recalling the colourful flags and pennants of Florentine Nobility. Antique furniture - a classical portrait bust - sits alongside contemporary artworks in the large living room. A small library has been added with classical Italian works, including poetry and short stories to give guests a ‘taste of Florence’. The ‘Blue Shoe’ painting echoes the playful art in the rest of the hotel, as a nod to traditional Florentine craftsmanship.
Authentic Italian fabrics have been used in the adjacent master bedroom which has a super king size bed. The dominant feature in this room is a full height bed-hanging in Cobalt blue with Florentine patterns and motifs which have also been used throughout.
The new bathroom of the main bedroom is adorned with Carrara marble and features a large mosaic panel over the double ended bath. The bathroom has a double vanity, walk-in shower and has a walk-in wardrobe adjacent.
On request, the Repubblica Suite can be available as a one-bedroom suite of 70-square-metres.
