THE CHARLES HOTEL AND TRADITIONAL ‘DIRNDL LIEBE’ COSTUME DESIGNER MAKE GUESTS FIT FOR OKTOBERFEST

Munich, 01 August 2014 –Following Germany’s victory in soccer World Cup, Munich is now preparing for a truly world champion 181st Oktoberfest: from 20th September until 5th October 2014, Oktoberfest will take over the city, filling with millions of visitors from all over the world. The Charles Hotel, a Rocco Forte hotel, is located closest of all 5 star hotels to the Oktoberfest celebrations, just 15 minute walk. In an exclusive cooperation with the Munich traditional costume designer Sarah Tack of Dirndl Liebe Oktoberfest costumes, the hotel offers selected made-to-measure the traditional dress for ladies and gentlemen, so revellers can look the part throughout the celebrations.

The unique Dirndl dresses of silk and lace are individually tailored, and come with matching accessories. Guests will have a consultation and fitting and just two hours later, will be ready for their grand Oktoberfest appearance. Upon request, a hairdresser and make-up appointment can additionally be booked with The Charles SPA to complete the traditional look.

The Charles Hotel will be brimming with Oktoberfest fun, with team members in the traditional costumes, also provided by Sarah Tack from boutique on Brienner Street 54. Throughout the festival, the designer will be at the hotel together with her tailor and will personally offer guests help and advice with selecting their Dirndl from her vast array of blouses, underskirts, floral hair wreaths, accessories such as jewellery, plait wreaths and charivari charms as well as complete outfits for gentlemen. A couture line is also available with delicate silk bodices veiled with lace, modernising the traditional costume.

Bavarian Folk Dance „Schuhplattler“ and Bavarian White Sausages in the Restaurant Davvero
Further October fest fun at The Charles Hotel will be the „Schuhplattler“-dance, a Bavarian dance from the middle of the 19th century. During Oktoberfest weekends and on 4th October from 11am until 3pm, the guests can enjoy the traditional dance performed by young men in the hotel. The Restaurant Davvero will put Bavarian delicacies on the menu during Oktoberfest. Guests can strengthen themselves for their first beer with a hearty snack on the beer garden terrace.
