THE CHARLES HOTEL CELEBRATES 500 YEARS OF PURITY OF BAVARIAN BEER
Munich, May 2016 – From 22 July to 24 July 2016, Munich will play host to the Festival
500 Years Bavarian Purity Law. From Friday to Sunday evening, 125 Bavarian breweries will
be presenting a unique variety of beer at the 30,000 sqm festival grounds in the heart of Munich, marking 500 years of the Bavarian purity law for beer. In celebration of this momentous anniversary, The Charles Hotel has created a variety of offers promising indulgence, fun and exploration of 500 years of the history of beer.
Guests choosing the Beer Package will find a little surprise in their rooms welcoming them upon arrival. Guests can start their exploration with a rickshaw ride to the festival grounds in Odeonsplatz, taking in the sites of Munich whilst enjoying a freshly drawn beer. At the Festival, guests can indulge in all kinds of Bavarian delicacies accompanied by the sound of traditional Bavarian musicians, on each of the three stages. The Sightseeing Beer Tour will take guests on a journey through the history of Beer with fun facts and anecdotes, en route to one of the historical breweries of Munich. Guests can also enjoy a trip to Kuchelbauer Tower and Kunsthaus in Abensberg, where in addition to a guided tour of the brewery, there is the opportunity to view some of the last work of renowned artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Alternatively, guests may wish to take the private limousine service to the historical Andechs Abbey, finishing the day in the beautiful beer garden with breathtaking views of the Bavarian Alps.
Upon returning to the hotel in the evening, guests can sample one of the delicious beer cocktails created by Roman Kern at the recently opened Sophia’s Restaurant and Bar, before enjoying one of the dishes from the delicious summer menu created by chef Michael Hüsken.
