VERDURA RESORT WINS ITALIAN SPA AWARD FOR BEST DESTINATION SPA
February 2015 – Verdura Resort, on the beautiful south coast of Sicily, has been named Best Destination SPA at the Italian SPA Awards, announced during the International Tourism Fair in Milan.
Run by the Italian Magazine Area Wellness, the Italian SPA Awards recognize excellence among the most beautiful and elegant spas all over Italy, in three categories: Destination Spa, Urban Spa and Medical Spa.
The awards are judged by an independent jury composed of readers of Area Wellness Magazine, as well as the spa visitors, who were able to cast their vote through the magazine’s website. This year more than 7.000 votes have been collected.
“We are very proud of the result achieved – said Ivan Artolli, Managing Director at Verdura Resort - it confirms the work that has been done up to date in order to offer our guests a personalized wellness vacation in harmony with the place and nature in which the Resorts is located: the beautiful Sicily.”
Anna Fedre, new SPA Manager at the Resort, who has more than 40 years of experience in the wellness industry says: "We are now working on new holistic programmes and proposals for body and mind’s wellbeing. On top of the upcoming Rocket Yoga Retreat, which is already programmed from March 28th to April 4th, we are also planning new meditation and fitness activities that will take place in our Spa and in the stunning surroundings of our Resort, among the olive trees or at the sea side."
Note to Editors
Verdura Resort, facing the crystal azure Mediterranean Sea on the south coast of Sicily, is Europe’s most exciting resort. Set in 230 hectares of stunning landscape, with over a mile of private coastline, yet has just 203 rooms and suites, giving a true sense of both space and privacy. Three world-class golf courses by Kyle Philips make Verdura the perfect all-year-round golf destination. There are six tennis courts; a 60m infinity pool; a soccer field; a fully-equipped gym; a wide-ranging sports and fitness offer and running trails through olive and lemon groves. The resort's restaurants and bars celebrate Sicilian cuisine with menus created from fresh organic ingredients complemented by a superb wine list. For a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, the 4.000 sqm Verdura Spa has four thalassotherapy pools, 2 saunas and one wide hamman, an extensive treatment menu and personalised well-being programmes.
