Roma Universalis is a journey to discover the last magnificent age of Roman Empire, focusing on the great artistic, social and architectural heritage left by the African dynasty of Severi.
Through the route of the exhibition, you will discover the most evocative monuments of Severi’s dynasty. From Colosseum to the Templum Pacis and Imperial Forums. Starting from II order gallery in the Colosseum, through the economic and social framework of the age, you can realize the close contact between Severi and the city of Rome, passing by the Forma Urbis documents and the substantial artistic production of the age. There are many monuments and archeological sites involved in the exhibition: The Thermal Baths of Elagabalo, which will be visible for the first time from the audience, the “Vicus ad Carinas” complex and the Severian places of Palatino (Domus Augustana, Domus Severiana, the Stadium), Vigna Barberini and many others.

This exhibition will focus on the great topics which inspired his studies and works: the technical and humanistic thought; the use of design and prospective as tool of knowledge and representation; the art of war with his innovations, like the flying machine; defining solutions in the work environment and production systems; his work on waterways, and much more to discover how the myth of Leonardo developed over the centuries.
