HOTEL AMIGO CELEBRATES A SWEET FESTIVE SEASON WITH DANIEL OST AND MAISON DANDOY

To mark the festive season, Hotel Amigo, a Rocco Forte hotel in Brussels, has partnered with Belgium’s most creative florist, Daniel Ost and iconic biscuit house, Maison Dandoy to offer a sweet and festive experience to guests throughout the month of December.

Rich in history and heritage, this year’s festive Christmas tree and advent calendar will honour the long-lasting relationship of Hotel Amigo with Maison Dandoy, Belgian speculoos and sweets craftsmen of more than 150 years, and Daniel Ost and family, who CBS News describes as "the world's leading flower designer".

To get guests into this festive spirit, a majestic Christmas tree decorated by Daniel Ost with thousands of sparking lights and celestial Christmas decorations will warm the hotel’s lobby. The magical atmosphere of Christmas will further enliven the lobby’s staircase, which will be adorned with a large Amigo façade advent-calendar. Every day from 1st December, concierges will open a window at five o’clock from which they will take a little Dandoy surprise to distribute among the hotel’s guests.

As Belgians celebrate Christmas twice, once on St Nicholas’ Day, December 6, and again on Christmas Day, December 25, Hotel Amigo will invite 60 children in need on 6 December to meet St. Nicholas and blow out 60 candles in celebration of the hotel’s 60th birthday. 

In Brussels and around the hotel, the atmosphere of the city centre is particularly magical throughout the winter season. Covering almost two kilometres, the wonderful Winter Wonders Christmas Market extends along the streets all the way from the beautiful Grand Place to the Place St Katherine and is bursting with a magical atmosphere. With marching bands, choirs and performance artists providing the entertainment along the route, guests at Hotel Amigo can browse the 240 quaint, wooden stalls for traditional gifts; stock up on unique Christmas ornaments; warm up with a glass of local ‘jenever’ – a gin-like drink - or go for a spin in the famous ice rink on the Marché aux Poissons.

For guests wishing to stay during these festivities, Hotel Amigo offers the “Sweet Festive Break Package” which includes an overnight stay at the Hotel Amigo in a Deluxe room breakfast included, an informative booklet with all the winter activities of Brussels’ Christmas market, as well as a Daniel Ost Christmas floral decorations and a Dandoy speculoos box in the room.

On December 24th, gourmets can enjoy a refined Italian four-course dinner, a Christmas menu  named after “Viglia di Natale” exclusively created by the famous Maestro Fulvio Pierangelini and chef Igor Rosi at Ristorante BoCConi. On Christmas day, everything is planned to ensure that guests enjoy time with the family during Il Pranzo di Natale a menu inspired by a traditional Italian feast, but revisited by the modern know-how of the Maestro.
