Hotel Astoria is pleased to announce that one of the most famous Russian fashion houses, TATYANA PARFIONOVA, will design the Christmas tree for Hotel Astoria and will allow exclusive access to her St Petersberg store for suite guests.

TATYANA PARFIONOVA is one of Russia’s most treasured fashion brands, founded in St Petersburg in 1995. The Christmas tree has been designed by Tatyana herself, to be a symbol of the happiness that the Christmas season brings to so many. Collections by TATYANA PARFIONOVA Fashion House are internationally renowned, shown at many fashion weeks all around the world.

The tree at Astoria will be decorated with a glass toys, produced by the famous Venetian glass factory “Signoretto Lampadari”. Designer Tatyana Pafionova says, «Decorating the Christmas tree has become a symbol of happiness in many households. A Christmas tree is a very old ethnic (pagan) symbol that brings a lot of joy to all. The richer you decorate the Christmas tree, the better! Thin sharp needles of the Christmas tree combined with the fragile weightless glass represent a strong desire to be happy and the fragility of all things precious.

Hotel Astoria are offering special rates guests to come to St Petersburg during the festive period. There are the Festive Suite Break - third night free: the rate starts from 16 080 rubles ($358 / £244 for double occupancy and the other Festive Offer - Stay 3 nights at Astoria and save 25%: the rate starts from 8840 rubles($ 197/ £133 for double occupancy.

The Astoria suites guests are invited for the exclusive tours to the Tatyana Parfionova Fashion House: to view of the latest collections of Tatyana Parfionova as well as wonderful paintings created by the designer, furniture with the handmade embroidery by Parfionova, books written by Tatyana and a lot of lovely souvenirs which will be the perfect Christmas gifts. The excusive experience will be finished with tea with treats from the talented Astoria Chocolatier.

On the New Year’s Eve guests are invited to the party “Snow Kingdom” at Winter Garden and Ballroom. Tickets price is 19 500 rubles (dollars 434/ £295 per person, including VAT. Children under 12 receive a 50% discount, while children under six eat for free. Kid’s entertainment will be provided. For those guests who prefer more privacy the festive dinner will be available at Astoria Café during all the New Year’s Eve nigh.

Traditional Christmas Sweets handcrafted by the Astoria Chocolatier offered at Rotonda Lounge of Astoria will be a great gift for friends, family or business partners.

Biography of the designer

Tatyana Parfionova was born in Ukraine (Poltava) in 1956. When she was eight years old her family moved to Leningrad where she started her studies. In 1977 she graduated from Leningrad Institute of Painting named after V.Serov. In 1988 she created the project "Theatre of Fashion". In 1995 she opened her own Fashion House on Nevsky Prospect in St.Petersburg. Today Tatyana Parfionova is a world known Russian fashion designer. Every year TATYANA PARFIONOVA Fashion House creates four seasonal collections: TATYANA PARFIONOVA Haute Couture collection and WHITE by Parfionova prêt-à-porter collection, in 2011 the new interior line Home Collection was launched.

TATYANA PARFIONOVA Fashion House was founded in February 1995. The first collection «Safron» created by Tatyana Parfionova was shown in April 1995 at the international festival "In Vogue" in Vilnius. Collection was awarded first prize "Golden Button", which Tatyana Parfionova received from the hands of the Jury Chairman Paco Rabanne. In the autumn of 1996 during Russian Fashion Week was presented collection “Mountain of Marat" which was recognized as the best collection of the year.
