Berlin, January 2018 – Hotel de Rome, a Rocco Forte Hotel in Berlin, recently announced its partnership with the newly re-opened Berlin State Opera on Bebelplatz. The collaboration between the two historic buildings underpins the five-star hotel’s leading position as the top destination for culture and entertainment in the Berlin Mitte district.

It took seven years to renovate Berlin’s oldest opera house, which now shines with fresh brilliance like never before and offers an exciting new sound experience. Hotel de Rome has some of the most-coveted opera seats in the best section of the opera hall so that patrons can savor the new features in full. The hotel has reserved two of these seats as exclusive season tickets for its guests, who can purchase them directly from the hotel’s concierge.

In celebration of this partnership, Jörg Behrend, chef of Restaurant La Banca, has created a special pre-opera menu with two courses, including coffee and opera chocolates. In the La Banca Bar, guests will have the chance to enjoy one of the legendary cocktails created by Maestro Barenboim - the “Il Maestro Cocktail” or a pisco sour with twist. Other delicious alternatives are the “Opera Cocktail” and the “Opera Pastry De Rome” with champagne cream.

Hotel de Rome also offers a tailored Opera Package, including culinary highlights and an overnight stay in the Classic Room with breakfast for two persons. Many of the hotel’s rooms and suites, including the luxurious Bebel Suite, offer direct views of the opera house. Guests can enjoy the view of the new cultural center of Berlin and the brightly lit opera house from the hotel’s spacious, 25-meter long terrace.

Hotel Director Gordon Debus is delighted: “Now that the State Opera is re-opening on Unter den Linden directly opposite our hotel, our culture-loving guests will not only benefit from our central location, but also from our exclusive offerings, including season tickets in the best seats in the State Opera.”

Hotel de Rome

Hotel de Rome is located on Bebelplatz, right in the heart of Berlin. An outstanding location, the Opera House lies to one side and the former Royal Library to the other, both visible from the hotel Roof Terrace. Designed by Tommaso Ziffer, the 145-bedroom property was once the headquarters of a major bank. The spaces have been converted to include a light-filled Ballroom that was the former cashier’s hall, and the Spa de Rome with a state-of-the-art gym, sauna, steam room and magnificent 20 metre swimming pool located in the bank’s old jewel vault.
