The Duomo Presidential Suite, four Grand View Suites and the Panoramic Suite - combining modern luxury, space and light – are the latest iconic gems of the newly reopened Hotel Savoy, a Rocco Forte Hotel. Here the city’s endless elegance meets high-end contemporary design thanks to the dedication, passion and creativity of Director of Design Olga Polizzi. These glamorous suites give Hotel Savoy a completely individual style merging Florentine culture, fashion and craftsmanship and creating a uniquely seductive and fresh look. After a painstaking renovation project, these newly inaugurated luxury suites join the stylish Repubblica Suite. This elegant suite is positioned on the “Piano Nobile” (floor of the Nobels) overlooking Piazza della Repubblica, and has been entirely restyled during the last grand re-opening of Hotel Savoy. Last but not least, a new series of Junior and Junior Deluxe Suites complete the exciting offering, bringing Hotel Savoy, into an entirely new level of luxury hospitality.

We always try to design our hotels to respect and mirror their location. At the Savoy, we have commissioned many talented local artisans who still create their masterpieces in Florence. Thanks to their great contribution the Hotel now reflects the essence of the city and give guests an immediate sense of place” says Olga Polizzi when describing the new suites. The exquisite new look is her personal “love letter” to these local masters whose stunning works adorn the interiors of the suites. Olga Polizzi sought the finest Tuscan craftsmen - from Chelini and Ceccarelli to Il Bronzetto and Castorina - to lovingly handcraft bespoke pieces for the Hotel bringing together the old and the new. Each of the suites, designed to convey a sense of calm and tranquility, has a predominately Italian feel mixed with English elements to bring a hint of Rocco Forte’s British heritage.

The 152 mDuomo Presidential Suite is one the largest suite of all of the Rocco Forte Hotels set in the very heart of Florence which now occupies its own wing with splendid views of Brunelleschi’s stunning Cupola and Giotto’s Campanile. The fenestration of the XX façade allows for splendid natural light to flood the suite, further highlighting the wonderful view of the Duomo. Turquoise blue is the most predominant color, the “Timorous Beastie” cushions add a playful edge to the suite with designs echoing the wooded nature-themed feel of the wallpaper, adorned with animals. This creates a dialogue with the stylish white statues featuring an elegant hunting dog created by Ceccarelli Ceramics at the entrance of the suite, whereas the pieces of art by Chelini workshop add a sense of Baroque-style to the living room space.

The four Grand View Suites provide brilliant views over Piazza della Repubblica, and are imbued with a floral, sylvan theme from the verdant, painted wallpaper. Each of the Grand View Suites is dedicated to a season, recalling the Putti Quattro Stagioni “four seasons” sculptures in the Lobby . The large classical statues are made by Florentine ceramist Ceccarelli. The ambience, embraced by the predominant soft green colour ensure that guests will feel inside a fairy tale, together in the heart of beautiful Florence. The classical theme continues with the 15th century Column of Abundance in the Piazza, the city’s literal centre meeting point, which each Grand View Suite overlooks.

On the 5th floor of the Hotel lies the unique two-storey Panoramic Suite decorated in soothing muted tones of yellows, golds and greys; on the upper level, guests can relax on the romantic private terrace offering a 180-degree astonishing view over the city’s Renaissance landmarks. This magical panorama of the city’s picturesque rooftops and Florentine hills is the perfect outdoor ‘al fresco’ atmosphere to enjoy a drink, Italian style. From the elegant bedroom, the close-up view of the Duomo will make it enticing to wake up. The space is enriched with

Gold leaf mirrors by local designer Il Bronzetto and bespoke bookcases from Castorina lined with works from both Italian and English classic authors.

We always design our hotels with the comfort of our guests in mind. The 'new' Savoy will be liked for its freshness, its spirit of Florence and its unusual design. Of course design is important, but without providing exceptional service, a very good service design can lose its importance. Design and service must always go hand in hand.” Olga Polizzi
