Verdura Resort is delighted to announce the launch of a series of unforgettable culinary experiences taking place in the beautiful setting of the newly refurbished Amare restaurant, right by the sea. The first exclusive event is set for 1st and 2nd July 2016. It will be a unique 6-hands gourmet dinner with Celebrity ChefFulvio Pierangelini, Director of Food for Rocco Forte Hotels, and two of Britain’s most exciting Chef-restaurateurs, Adam Byatt, chef and owner of Trinity Restaurant in London, and Tom Kitchin, Master Chef Judge and owner of The Kitchin Restaurant in Edinburgh.

The three prolific chefs will guide Verdura’s guest on a memorable culinary journey through fresh and seasonal produce of the island. The tantalising menu will consist of 7 courses. British guest chefs Adam Byatt and Tom Kitchin will create two new enticing starters and two main courses incorporating the flavours of Sicily. Chef Fulvio Pierangelini, known for his outstanding Italian cuisine, will create two pasta dishes. The 6-hands gourmet dinner will end with a surprise dessert created by all three chefs.

In celebration of this exciting event, Verdura has created a special package which includes a four-night stay in a Deluxe Room and the 6-hands dinner with wine pairing from € 462,00 per room, per night. (Offer valid for arrivals from 29th June to 2nd July in a double occupancy Deluxe Room).

This is the first of a series of gourmet events at Verdura Resort during the upcoming summer season. The series, called “De Rerum Natura”, will focus on culinary events with Fulvio Pierangelini and renowned Chefs from across the world. The culinary philosophy that each of the participating chefs shares with Fulvio is creating sensational and innovative dishes using the simplest ingredients through a natural way of cooking.

Save the Date: our next gourmet event in August will be all about Italian flair. Fulvio will be joined by two world renowned Italian Chefs for another sensational culinary experience.

Tom Kitchin, one of Britain’s leading chefs, was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and his culinary CV extends from early training at the five-star Gleneagles Hotel to experience garnered working with some of the world’s most renowned chefs and restaurants. Chef Kitchin, whose cooking philosophy is “From Nature to Plate”, has a passion for using the finest, freshest Scottish seasonal produce in his Michelin star restaurant The Kitchin, as well as Edinburgh gastro pub The Scran & Scallie. He said:  “My passion for Sicily first began when I travelled there over ten years ago when working for Sir Anthony and Lady Bamford on their yacht. I was introduced to the local food markets in Sicily and was absolutely amazed by the wonderful produce, especially the fruit and vegetables. Truly a chef’s paradise.”

“Although I've been back a few times over the years, Sicily never stops to impress me. It's a very special place and holds some incredible foodie memories for me. I really look forward to working alongside Adam and Fulvio using the amazing produce of the region to create an unforgettable experience for our guests.” 

Adam Byatt is a creative and accomplished chef with a passion for British food. Starting his career aged sixteen, Adam has earned a reputation for honest cooking, designed to showcase the very best local produce “I am truly delighted to be visiting Verdura Resort in Siciliy. It is a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with incredible chefs and I am looking forward to working with the amazing ingredients the island has to offer.”

Fulvio Pierangelini became world-renowned for his award-winning seaside restaurant Il Gambero Rosso in San Vincenzo (Livorno), and loved for his ebullient master classes and his edgy, intuitive and trend-setting recipes. He is described as a ‘food whisperer’, able to conjure magic out of the simplest and most familiar ingredients – seafood, fish, vegetables – and combining and presenting them in new and inventive ways whilst remaining true to Italian tradition. Fulvio says, “It will be wonderful. As Chefs, we speak the same language, with the same intuitions, skills, technique, pride, passion, sternness, and heart for cooking…Cooking together will be a joy! It will be an exchange, a sharing, a celebration.” 

The menus cost €145 food only and €175 with wine pairing.
