FRANKFURT’S MOST IMMERSIVE MUSEUMS

Rocco Forte Hotels

With an entire riverbank dedicated to art and culture, Frankfurt is a fantastic city to explore on a family holiday. But instead of dragging the kids around grand, stuffy museums, why not try something a little more interactive? From science shows to painting classes and fun, hands-on exhibitions, these immersive museums in Frankfurt will keep them entertained for hours.

Experiminta

At Experiminta in Frankfurt, children are encouraged to engage with scientific concepts through hands-on play. Spanning subjects like physics, computer science and maths, exhibits are both fun and educational (and include objects like a giant pair of pliers, intended to demonstrate the Law of Leverage). Young visitors will also love the regular science shows, which feature exciting live demonstrations.

Dialog Museum

An enlightening experience for all ages, the Dialog Museum provides a fascinating insight into what it’s like to live without sight. The Dialogue in the Dark tour takes place in total darkness, as small groups are led through a series of exhibition rooms by a visually impaired or blind guide. Each room resembles an everyday situation, such as a walk in the park or a trip to a café. Unable to rely on their sight, visitors experience what it’s like to use their other senses to orientate themselves.

Minischirn

Part of Frankfurt’s acclaimed Schirn Kunsthalle, Minischirn is designed for children aged three years old and over. Innovatively designed as a multi-sensory experience, little ones can get creative with a painting or drawing class, or simply burn off some steam exploring the interactive exhibitions while adults enjoy the Schirn Kunsthalle’s world-class collection of artworks by the likes of Marc Chagall, Wassily Kandinsky and Frida Kahlo.

Book a room at Villa Kennedy and receive 50% off an adjacent or interconnecting room in addition to a 50% discount on food and drink for 4-12-year-olds and complimentary meals for children under three years old.
