Teatro dell’Opera

Channel Picasso and Cocteau’s passion for the arts with a trio of ballet performances, at the Teatro dell'Opera from 23 - 29 March. Featuring Playlist (Track 1,2), first choreographed by William Forsythe for the English National Ballet in 2018, alongside Windgames by Patrick de Bana, and Women by Juliano Nunes. From 2 - 9 May, Rome’s renowned opera house will also stage a performance of Jenůfa, a powerful, thought-provoking opera in three acts by the composer Leoš Janáček. Trace Rome’s deep-rooted connection to theatre, honouring ancient legacy and contemporary expressions. Witness Richard Strauss’ Salome, based on the one-act tragedy by Oscar Wilde from 7 - 16 March, alongside Vincenzo Bellini’s La Sonnambula from 9 - 17 April, and the Italian première of Verdi’s Othello, from 1 - 12 June. © Fabrizio Sansoni.

Museo Storico della Fanteria

For Pop-Art enthusiasts, Universo Warhol at the Museo Storico della Fanteria will display more than 250 works, encapsulating the pioneering and disruptive world of Andy Warhol. From iconic silkscreen prints to the star-studded covers of Interview Magazine, the exhibition will be on display until 17 March.

The Capitoline Museums

Until 5 May, celebrate the life and work of the greatest sculptor of the classical age with Fidia, an extraordinary exhibition at The Capitoline Museums.

Continue upon an artistic voyage across the city with a visit to the Van Gogh Experience, taking place at The Next Museum until 31 March. A multimedia exploration through the renowned catalogue of Vincent Van Gogh, this immersive exhibition celebrates the sensory powers of his life’s work.

MAXXI National Museum

At the MAXXI National Museum, discover a curation of Jannis Kounellis’ most profound works, spotlighting the Greek-Italian artist’s connections to theatre and performance art. Jannis Kounellis: Notte, is on display until 30 April.

Casa del Cinema

For film lovers, embrace balmy evenings beneath the stars this Spring with open-air screenings at Casa del Cinema. Positioned under an umbrella of pine trees in Villa Borghese, the romantic art house cinema is renowned for hosting big-screen classics and meetings with notable directors, such as the American filmmaker Martin Scorsese who attended a special screening last spring.
