We favour electricity over petrol. We installed an electric charging station in our garage and added an electric tuk tuk to our fleet.

Smart devices

To avoid waste and overconsumption of energy and electricity, the in-room A/C system is linked to the windows in all of our refurbished rooms - when guests open the window, the A/C temporarily stops until the window is closed again.

In-room Green program

Our in-room green program enables guests to request linen and towel renewal only when they need it, instead of changing them everyday. By doing so, we help reduce our water and energy consumption.

Irene Forte skincare is certified by B-Corp and has received Positive Luxury’s Butterfly Mark certification. Created by Sir Rocco Forte’s daughter, Irene, all of our skincare products are made in Italy and are vegan-friendly, sustainable and natural.

Eco products

At every opportunity, we opt for more ecological versions of already existing products. We have invested in sustainable materials for all food and beverage servicing, including our staff canteen. We opted for a sustainable cloth garment bag for laundry delivery, and compact our paper for better garbage management.

The history of Hotel de Russie

Hotel de Russie's construction in the early 1800s was by Giuseppe Valadier. Regular visitors from the Russian Imperial House and Russian intellectuals and Romantic painters, gave the hotel its name. It also played host to many artistic luminaries.

Ideally situated in the city's historical heart

Hotel de Russie, the legendary Roman jewel of Rocco Forte Hotels, is situated on the elegant Via del Babuino between two of Rome’s most famous piazzas, Piazza di Spagna and Piazza del Popolo.

Preservation of historical heritage

In 2000, the interior renovation of our historic building was entrusted to architect Tommaso Ziffer and Olga Polizzi. The resulting interior design showcases a unique fusion of historical and modern influences. Today, Hotel de Russie continues to be a reference point for art lovers and design enthusiasts.
