Castle Gun Salute | Edinburgh Castle

Across the UK, on special occasions, six 13-pounder guns, pulled to position by teams of horses, fire 21 rounds of booming blanks in a regal tradition dating back to the 15th Century. One such Gun Salute will take place to celebrate HM King Charles’ 75th birthday in the beautiful grounds of Edinburgh Castle, the impressive UNESCO Heritage Site that sits atop Castle Rock overlooking the Scottish capital.
