SIX UP-AND-COMING DESIGNERS TO WATCH THIS LONDON FASHION WEEK

Each season, tastemakers look to London Fashion Week to discover the latest cutting-edge designs. A hotbed of emerging talent, London Fashion Week is where the finest new trends are set. As the glittering biannual event approaches, here are six up-and-coming designers to watch out for.

Molly Goddard

Winner of the British Emerging Talent award at the 2016 Fashion Awards, Central Saint Martins alumnus, Molly Goddard is hot fashion property. Her clothes offer a playful take on feminine shapes and you can find her collection at Dover Street Market and Browns.

Richard Quinn

Richard Quinn’s label is barely a year old but he’s made a splash with striking collections featuring bold silhouettes and models swathed entirely in fabric from head to toe. His pretty floral prints caught Liberty’s attention, prompting a collaboration with the heritage store.

Teatum Jones

Chic, voluminous tailoring and eye-catching evening gowns in ultra-luxurious fabrics underpin duo, Teatum Jones’ modern aesthetic. You can shop their collection at Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge.

Paula Knorr

After winning the prestigious NEWGEN award in 2015, German designer Paula Knorr has been a name to watch on the London Fashion Week schedule. Her collections feature beautifully cut and draped dresses, shirts and blouses in jewel and pastel colours.

Natasha Zinko

Natasha Zinko’s cheery colourful florals and bright check prints have captured the fashion pack’s hearts. The Ukrainian designer has been showing at London Fashion Week for two years, and her sculpted, body skimming dresses and outwear make her one of the most exciting talents.

Roberta Einer

Having worked at Alexander McQueen and Mary Katrantzou, Estonian designer, Roberta Einer has superlative credentials. Her playful multi-coloured, multi-textured separates and dresses are a medley of sequins, chiffon and embellishment.

Verdura’s Private Villas: Living the Sicilian Way

Sicily is “the key to everything”, or so wrote Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in his works, Italian Journey. Throughout history, the largest island in the Mediterranean has captivated travellers as a land of myth, natural beauty and ancient memory. Shaped by Greek colonies, Emirates of Crete, Roman Provinces, Norman Kingdoms and Spanish rule, Sicily holds the imprint of civilisations past. Woven into its landscapes, their presence remains with its buildings, ruins and along the pretty coastal paths that follow its shores.

Tracing the Belle Époque from Rome to Palermo

In a time when beauty shaped every facet of life — from the curve of a staircase to the vivid bloom of a painted iris — Italy’s Stile Liberty captured the optimism of a new century. Across Europe in the late 19th century, the Belle Époque blurred the line between art and the everyday, celebrating craftsmanship, elegance, and expressive freedom. Now, a new cultural itinerary, From Mucha to Florio, traces that movement between Hotel de la Ville in Rome and Villa Igiea in Palermo, two different cities, two glorious expressions of the same artistic impulse.

Made in Italy

In a city with a legacy like Florence, it is only natural for inspiration to take root. And alongside the bigger, global brands, small artisans flourish through their innate ability to tailor their ideas to an individual’s taste and dreams.
