FIG LEAVES SOUR BY JFK BAR

Rocco Forte Hotels

A sublime cocktail for a weekend soirée

This delicious cocktail is all about balance. The simplicity of a whiskey sour is what makes perfecting the iconic tipple so nuanced. Over in Frankfurt, Villa Kennedy’s expert mixologists at JFK Bar have perfected this cult classic and given it a sophisticated edge by adding a delicate hint of fig. The result is superb.

The blend of bourbon and rye whiskey creates a complementary base of bitters, adding new flavour profiles and character, making this drink feel all the more special and sophisticated. Next, use just enough lemon to make a counterpart to the whiskey, and just enough syrup to take the edge off the lemon. To finish, add the egg white to create a light, frothy foam on top of the drink. This also creates a soft, smooth texture when you’re ready to take your first sip. Once you’ve tried a Fig Leaves Sour, you’ll make it your go-to cocktail for every occasion.
