LAMIGO 2020

We joined forces with Gudule Urban Winery, adjacent to Brussels Canal, to create LAMIGO 2020. This entirely organic red wine is a blend of Belgian and Italian grape varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese and Shiraz. It has been aged to perfection for more than a year in a cellar nestled in the heart of the city, a stone’s throw from Hotel Amigo.

Beer A

In the 16th century, our hotel was a prison. Back then, the prisoners brewed beer made to a recipe that was passed on by word of mouth. The brewing technique had to be kept secret at all costs, on pain of execution. When the prison closed, the secret recipe and method was lost – until a prisoner’s diary was discovered in a cell during Hotel Amigo’s renovation. Thanks to the disobedient prisoner and local brewery, Beer Storming, we were able to revive the legendary drink – a slightly bitter, amber-hued lager – which we now serve in Bar A.

Laurent Gerbaud

The master chocolatier, Laurent Gerbaud, makes chocolate that’s low in sugar and free from butter, alcohol, preservatives, artificial flavours and additives such as soya lecithin. He’s also introduced a vegan collection, so everyone can taste his original creations. 

Maison Dandoy

Founded in 1829 on La Rue au Beurre – Butter Street – in front of Hotel Amigo, Maison Dandoy is the oldest biscuit factory in Brussels. Today, it’s run by the seventh generation of the same family, and the current owners pay as much attention to quality as their ancestors did – although its range of vegan and gluten-free biscuits brings it firmly into the 21st century.

Fernand Obb

This relaxed diner near Place Louis Morichar Park serves Belgian produce such as its multi award-winning Northern Sea grey shrimps croquettes. Crusty on the outside with a creamy interior, they’re just as popular on our menu.

Dierendonck

We’re passionate about craftsmanship and traceability so we source our meat from Dierendonck. The family butcher cares about its cattle, nourishing them with quality Belgian ingredients and researching new sustainable production methods. The result is delicious meat, full of flavour, and expertly cooked by our chefs at Hotel Amigo.

De Corte

When you taste the De Corte family’s artisanal fries, you’ll discover that their slogan, ‘Quality is our advertisement’, rings true – which explains why the brand is renowned and beloved by Belgians.

Kaasaffineurs Van Tricht

With 50 years of know-how under their belt, the family company Kaasaffineurs Van Tricht understands organic cheese, and has gained a reputation for its premium selection of locally hand-ripened artisanal cheeses. Part cheese shop, part cheese and wine bar and export business, it is located inside a brewery. 

Ducobu

Marc Ducobu represents expertise in the world of Belgian chocolate by creating high quality desserts, treats that trick the eye and too-good-to-eat patisserie. As a member of Relais Desserts, he is officially part of the elite world of French pastry.

Gudule Urban Winery

This Brussels-based wine cellar offers a selection of organic wines. From picking the grapes to bottling the wine, everything is done in Brussels in a responsible way. We can arrange tours and tastings of its winery, or you can order a bottle at Hotel Amigo.

Brasserie de la Senne

The craft beer brewery Brasserie de la Senne demands consistency and refuses to compromise on raw materials, meticulously selecting only the best. This has resulted in excellent quality beer that is light in alcohol. The company also cares for the environment, recycling its brewing waste and saving energy by installing photovoltaic panels on its roof.

Beer Storming

Beer Storming is committed to helping the environment by offsetting its carbon emissions – making it the first brewery in Belgium to produce a carbon-neutral beer. Their team is behind our legendary Beer A.

Chips Lucien

The three brothers – Thomas, Stany and Antoine Van den Abeele – who inherited Bure farm from their late father take pride in creating slow cooked crisps. Completely natural and certified vegan, these fine slices of potato goodness are also free from gluten, lactose, artificial flavouring and colouring.

Chant d’Eole

When a family of winegrowers from Champagne teamed up with a family of Belgian farmers in 2010, Chant d’Eole was born. Powered by wind turbines, the innovative wine estate is best known for producing Belgian bubbles.

DO Flowers

Our Florist and Floral Designer, Damien Overputte, has been awarded a Commerce de Qualité certificate by the city of Brussels, in acknowledgement of his services. Trained in Belgium and Japan, he created the Lady Forte rose for our founder and is part of the committee which brings the Brussels Flower Carpet to the city every other year.
