Charles Kaisin’s exclusive work of art
Uncover 1,017 pieces of beautiful origami during your stay
Brussels always looks dashing during the festive season, glowing with twinkling lights and delicate decorations. To elevate the season’s celebrations, Belgian’s famous surrealist designer Charles Kaisin has adorned the city’s landmarks with thousands of delicate Origami birds seemingly in flight, each one individually hand-made by Brussel’s city dwellers during lockdown.
Several of the city’s iconic buildings, including our Hotel Amigo, have been artfully decorated with a flurry of multicoloured birds, an extension of Charles Kaisin’s wider ‘Origami for Life’ project, providing online tutorials to encourage those spending more time at home to learn how to make their own delicate little birds.
Book an exceptional Christmas staycation in Brussels to soak up the festivities with a sumptuous stay at Hotel Amigo. From our door, you can stroll along the picturesque cobbled streets past the sacred island and across the Grand Place to follow the trail of dainty Origami birds, artfully placed across city landmarks. Finish your visit with the artist’s last creation; a sensational flock of golden birds swirling around a magnificent Christmas tree to welcome you home.
