Environmental Preservation

Sustainability is part of our philosophy and is a continuous process of learning and adapting. We are proud to present some of our most important sustainable initiatives:

Responsible purchasing

We are proud to partner with sustainable Belgian suppliers such as Laurent Gerbaud, Gudule or Alfonza Salamone, ensuring the best quality and limiting our impact on the environment.

Limiting plastic

We are continuously working to reduce single-use plastics and can certify that our in-room bar, bathroom and bedroom amenities are free from plastic.                                                                                                                                                                                

Green, clean products

With Green Line Industrial, we have chosen sustainably sourced and environmentally friendly maintenance products formulated without phosphates, parabens and EDTA.

Skincare products

Irene Forte skincare is certified by B-Corp and has received Positive Luxury’s Butterfly Mark certification. Created by Sir Rocco Forte’s daughter, Irene, all of our skincare products are made in Italy and are vegan-friendly, sustainable and natural.

Reducing waste

We aim to reduce waste by using refillable products, recycling where possible and raising awareness within our team about sustainable challenges and solutions.

Charging stations

We are always on the look out for new trends and are dedicated to meeting customer needs. We are therefore happy to provide an electric-car charging station in response to recent requests.

Heritage and Culture

Built on the vestiges of the ancient city’s prison and situated within walking distance of Brussels’ main attractions, our hotel is an integral part of the capital’s rich history.

The history of Hotel Amigo

Built for grandeur, Hotel Amigo’s foundation stone was laid in 1957. After officially opening in 1958 for the Universal Exposition, we had the pleasure of hosting renowned guests such as the Belgian Royal Family.

Ideally situated in the city's historical heart

Located a stone’s throw from the main square Grand-Place and Manneken-Pis statue, Hotel Amigo is the perfect place to discover Brussels’ most renowned cultural treasures.

Preservation of historical heritage

We are honoured to participate in the preservation of Belgian architecture. We have saved several 17th century black floor slabs from destruction and rescued stairs from Place de Brouckère square and bricks from Couvent des Visitandines’ facade.

Social Commitment

We firmly believe that solidarity and sustainability are intrinsically linked. Hence, we are proud to share with you our latest social responsibility measures.

 

Helping others

We are pleased to take part in meaningful projects including Serve the City, where food and other essentials are distributed to people in need. We are also proud of our partnership with l’Armée du Salut – the Salvation Army – which sees us donate surplus hygiene products, bedding and furniture to people who need them.

Solidarity steps

Striving to help people and creating unforgettable memories are part of our core values. That’s why we host an annual afternoon tea for the children’s charity Make-A-Wish, offering children and their families an enchanting stay.

Staff socials

We cultivate social events for Team Members such as relay races to strengthen team spirit and ensure a friendly working environment.

Staff family party

As St Nicholas Day in early December is firmly anchored in Belgian traditions, we welcome Team Members and their families for a joyous annual reunion, with food and presents for little ones.
