EXPERIENCE TIMELESS ITALIAN CRAFTSMANSHIP THIS CHRISTMAS IN ROME AND FLORENCE

Building on our Italian heritage, love of sophisticated products and elegant design this winter we have introduced some wonderful seasonal partnerships. In Rome and Florence we have sought out brands of a similar ethos and style: family-run, international with Italian origins, and attention to detail. At Hotel de Russie in Rome, we’ve partnered up with Acqua di Parma, a leading fragrance and lifestyle brand established in 1916. Meanwhile, in Florence, Hotel Savoy has teamed up with contemporary design house Aquazzura.

Acqua di Parma at Hotel de Russie

Known for its secret garden scented with pine, roses and citrus, Hotel de Russie becomes even more perfumed this winter thanks to our festive partnership with Acqua di Parma. Established over a century ago with the launch of its signature scent Colonia, Acqua di Parma has since expanded its collection whilst remaining true to our shared principle values of beauty, quality and authenticity.

A giant snowball housing an elegant Christmas tree bathed in golden light sparkles in our romantic courtyard. Tastefully decorated in Acqua di Parma’s signature colours, white and yellow, the brand’s legendary hatboxes serve as gleaming presents underneath its lowest branches. .

The partnership continues indoors as, from late November to mid-March, Acqua di Parma will be moving its boutique to our hotel and creating its very first barbiere within our walls. Guests at Hotel de Russie can browse Acqua di Parma’s exquisite range and enjoy their products as part of a relaxing in-house experience. With a treatment list featuring a Traditional Italian Shave, a Prestige Shave including revitalising eye massages, finished with a touch of Colonia, soothing facials and shaping eyebrow treatments and more, there’s something for everyone.

Aquazzura at Hotel Savoy

Florence’s reputation for high fashion and quality craftsmanship is reflected in the design of the Hotel Savoy. More recently, it is emblematic of our exclusive partnership with Florentine shoemaker Aquazzura, evident from the moment guests enter Hotel Savoy and are dazzled by our festive centrepiece. A grand Christmas tree bedecked with silver ornaments and golden pineapples by Aquazzura takes pride of place in the lobby, whilst throughout our hotel, smaller but no less eye-catching trees highlight this fashionable collaboration.

Famed for its elegant footwear, crafted from the finest Italian materials, and counting the royalty of Europe among its regular clientele, guests staying at Hotel Savoy can enjoy a behind-the-scenes insight into the rise of this Florentine brand. They can view Aquazzura’s limited-edition collections at their flagship boutique, just moments from Hotel Savoy, and then visit their headquarters in the late-baroque Palazzo Corsini. Led by a member of the Corsini family or an Aquazzura specialist, you’ll tour this historic building admiring the incredible works of art it houses – the ideal round off to a day of stylish pursuits.

Coastal modernism, Sicilian Style: New Suites at Verdura Resort

Verdura Resort has always drawn its character from its surroundings – the wide sweep of Sicily's south-western coastline, the olive groves and macchia mediterranea stretching back from the shore, the quality of a landscape that shifts hour by hour with the sun. When Paolo Moschino and Philip Vergeylen, working closely with Olga Polizzi, began designing the resort's new collection of sea-facing suites and rooms, that relationship between interior and place was where they started.

The Language of Flowers: Inside our Suites

Every suite is, in some sense, a portrait of where it stands, grounded in the history, the stories, the particular light of its city. At Hotel de Russie in Rome, the Valadier Suite takes its name and its lush colour palette from the architect who designed the hotel's own Secret Garden; at Hotel Amigo in Brussels, the Tintin Suite pays tribute to Belgium's most beloved cultural hero. The floristry follows the same instinct.

Rothko and the Renaissance: A Conversation in Colour

There is something quietly radical about bringing Mark Rothko to Florence. A city so saturated in figurative genius — Botticelli, Michelangelo, Fra Angelico — might seem an unlikely home for vast, wordless fields of colour. And yet, speaking with Riccardo Lami, Head of Development at Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, it quickly becomes clear that this is precisely the point — and that for the institution behind some of Florence's most ambitious modern art programmes, the question of past meeting present is one to return to again and again.
