Ficuzza – Corleone

After taking delivery of your Porsche at Verdura Resort from our Private Driving Concierge, head north on the open road to the striking village of Ficuzza. Enjoy a private visit to the grandiose Royal Palace of Ficuzza, a regal hunting lodge situated on a vast, verdant estate. On your return journey, call in on the ancient, frescoed churches of Corleone, a scenic area immortalised in film as the fictional home of “The Godfather”.

Selinunte – Marsala – Marsala Salt Pans

Cruise westwards along the rugged coast, towards the ancient Greek temple of Selinunte. The sprawling ruins of this archaeological site, gazing out over the seafront, are the largest in Europe. Continue west to Marsala – known for its eponymous fortified wine – to sample the legendary beverage at a historical winery. Before returning, savour a sublime lunch overlooking the vast, photogenic expanse of the Marsala Salt Pans.

Valle dei Templi

The magnificent archaeological site of the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento is one of Sicily’s—and Europe’s—most iconic landmarks. Drive east along the coast to reach this breath-taking heritage site. Embark upon a private tour around its seven Greek temples, gardens, statues and relics, then enjoy a local lunch in the charming town of Agrigento. Stop in at the Almond Museum for a taste of this celebrated local crop before taking the scenic route back to Verdura Resort.

Serenity in the City

Contrary to popular belief, a sense of wellbeing doesn’t have to follow a set formula. Rather, it’s simply the moments which bring you back to yourself. For some, it’s a morning swim followed by a restorative massage. For others, it’s curling up in a quiet corner with a good book, or a pause beneath a centuries-old fresco in a hushed church. In Europe’s capitals, these precious moments of calm are easier to find than one might expect. Whilst a city break is often imagined as a fast-paced affair, sometimes we discover more when we choose to stand still.

Wild swimming spots in Edinburgh, Munich and Puglia

There’s a certain clarity that comes from swimming in the open air. Whether in the stillness of a moorland reservoir, the salty waves of a sunlit beach, or a shaded city river, wild swimming reconnects us to something elemental. Close to our hotels, these wild swims lie within easy reach, beautifully unfiltered, yet just far enough to feel like a world apart.
