The Experience
Discover a four-night experience at Masseria Torre Maizza with the golden allure of olive oil at its heart. Puglia’s abundant natural ingredients have made it a pioneer in the slow travel movement but it’s time spent with our Creative Director of Food, Fulvio Pierangelini, that makes this culinary retreat so special.
Explore fruitful and expansive vistas, from the fishing boats to the land, punctuated by trulli houses. Drawing on the local landscape is central to Fulvio’s philosophy. “I try to imagine dishes that resemble the place that you’re in, no matter where it is in the world,” he says.
This gastronomic journey will take you from the sea to the sun-dappled olive groves and vineyards, via local dairies, as you explore all of Puglia’s gastronomic delights. Learn how to make local produce and linger over long lunches. Fulvio will be there to guide you along the way, sharing his expertise and cooking for you at the hotel and beyond.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival & Day at Leisure
Aperitivo with Chef Fulvio Pierangelini and the perfect opportunity to get to know each other.
Day 2: Visit to the local market
Morning: After a visit to the fish and vegetable market, guided by the expertise of our chef. Carefully select and purchase the finest local products to later join the chef in a “cooking together” experience.
Lunch: Gather for a late lunch, enjoying the fruits of the culinary adventure together.
Dinner: Let’s Pizza together at Pool Bar.
Day 3: Olive Gold
Morning: Olive oil harvesting and tasting in an oil mill
Lunch: Walk to a private lunch set among the olive groves
Afternoon: Wine tasting experience with one of the greatest Apulian producer
Dinner: At leisure
Day 4: Dairy
Morning: Burrata and mozzarella making in a local dairy in Fasano and cheese tasting
Lunch: Lunch at Lido Bambu Beach Club
Dinner: Apullian dinner at Carosello with wine pairing
Day 5: Departures
