September 2016 –Verdura Resort, a Rocco Forte hotel, has been honoured at the European Health and Spa Awards Ceremony, held in Vienna at the Palais Hansen Kempinski. The resort was among the finalists in the “Best Resort Spa” and Verdura Spa has been recognized as Best in Italy.
Verdura Resort was selected from a total of 37 nominees across 9 categories. The prestigious awards are in their eighth year of honouring leaders in the industry.
Verdura Resort is the flagship spa of the Rocco Forte Spas Concept, the new brand wide spa proposition launched and developed by Ms. Irene Forte, Brand Manager at Rocco Forte Hotels and daughter of Sir Rocco, last January 2016. Set amid olive groves, oranges and lemon trees, Verdura Spa philosophy is based on Sebastian Kneipp’s five pillars: water, plants, exercise, nutrition and balance. Each pillar improves wellbeing, but it is through the interplay of all five at Verdura Spa that self healing begins.
“We are proud to have been named Best Resort Spa in Italy – said Marco Truffelli, General Manager at Verdura Resort - This acknowledgement confirms that we are one of Europe’s most advanced luxury wellbeing centres offering a unique and bespoke wellness programme with an authentic Sicilian flair.”
The European Health and SPA Awards are organized by the Agency for Health & Wellness; they aim to rewardthe best heath and spa facilities, treatments and product innovation as well as setting the standards within the wellness industry. An independent jury, consisting of experts and leaders in the wellness industry, as well as key influencers in economics and media, have selected the winners. The evaluation is carried out on the basis of 8 criteria points: design & engineering, health proposal, offers & service, economic efficiency, productivity, sustainability, innovation, sustainability and social corporate responsibility. Finally an anonymous testing of the property is carried out.
